Femama and Américas Amigas unite

Americas Amigas joins FEMAMA and together with other members of the federation starts to influence the formulation of public policies for breast health care, such as the one that resulted in the Mandatory Notification of Cancer in Brazil Law No. 13,685, of June 25, 2018.

FEMAMA - Founded in 2006, the Brazilian Federation of Philanthropic Institutions in Support of Breast Health (FEMAMA) is a non-profit civil association that seeks to reduce mortality rates from breast cancer in Brazil. Fighting for public policies that ensure greater access and quality in the diagnosis and treatment of the disease.

Since its foundation, FEMAMA has already collected some achievements, such as the approval of Law 11.664 that regulates mammography from 40 years of age through SUS and the current Compulsory Notification of Cancer in Brazil, Law Nº 13.685.

For Americas Amigas this union is very important, because the achievements of the federation and its members have been fundamental to change the negative scenario of breast cancer, a disease that has high mortality rates in Brazil.
