We had the honour of participating in the Pink October Event organised and held at the 43rdBPM/M, Forty-third Battalion of the Metropolitan Military Police.
During the event, we held a round of conversation with the participants where we talked about breast cancer and the importance of early diagnosis for better chances of curing the disease.
The participating police officers took advantage of the meeting to clarify doubts and curiosities about the subject, besides getting to know better the work of Américas Amigas and the pillars of action developed from north to south of the country.
For us it was an honor to participate in this meeting and share knowledge.
Complexo do Alemão is located in the northern zone of Rio de Janeiro, is made up of fifteen communities and has a population of around 200,000 inhabitants.
A partnership between Américas Amigas and Daiichi Sankyo Brasil, the action began on March 8, 2022, and toured the north, northeast and central-west regions of the country, bringing free breast cancer detection and diagnosis tests to around 4,000 low-income women aged 40 and over.
