Race and walk against breast cancer

Americas Amigas supports race and walk against breast cancer.

Américas Amigas, a non-profit civil association that fights against the high mortality rates from breast cancer in Brazil, supports the 1st Walk/Run Pink October, which will be held at 8am on October 4 in Ribeirão Preto (SP).

The initiative of InORP (Instituto Oncológico de Ribeirão Preto) also has the support of the Iguatemi Shopping Center, from where the start will take place, and the Espaço Vita Fitness Center, both in the city.
The objective is to draw attention to the Pink October Campaign, which aims to publicize the importance of mammography and invite women to undergo the exam.

For early detection to become a reality, in addition to state-of-the-art equipment, well-trained technicians and physicians specialized in discovering breast cancer at its initial stage, it is necessary to inform that mammography is the most indicated exam for the detection of breast cancer and must be done annually by women over 40 years of age.

For every R$100.00 raised, Americas Amigasenables a mammogram for a low-income woman. This can help her to have an early diagnosis, enabling a greater chance of cure against breast cancer.
