With the mission of bringing information and working directly for the early detection and diagnosis of the disease, we created the NGO Amigas Américas to offer free examinations, equip health institutions and train professionals responsible for diagnosis.

Since 2009, we have offered more than 800,000 free examinations - including mammograms, ultrasounds and biopsies - which have transformed the lives of thousands of women throughout the country, whether on the outskirts of large cities or on the banks of rivers in the Amazon.

Our hope grows stronger because, when diagnosed early, Breast Cancer has a 90% chance of cure. However, this is not the reality for most low-income women who suffer from the difficulty of accessing exams to detect the disease. With the support of companies, friends and admirers, we donated 23 mammographers that are spread all over the country, as well as promoting more than 24 thousand hours of training and qualification of more than 337 health professionals to improve the quality of diagnoses.

We are very happy with what we have achieved in these 10 years, but we also know that much more can be done. We want this anniversary to also be a milestone for even more women who need help to transform the fear of facing Breast Cancer into joy for overcoming the disease.
