TRUTH: Physical activity prevents cancer regardless of weight loss?
If Brazilians practiced more physical activities, they could avoid 10 thousand cases of the disease per year*. 30 minutes of physical activity per day or even less can balance hormone levels, reduce gastrointestinal transit time (reducing the time of contact with cancerigenous substances), besides strengthening the body's defenses.

MYTH: Are there miracle foods that can cure cancer?
A healthy, balanced diet can help prevent and even treat cancer. But, unfortunately, there is no scientific proof that the ingestion of specific foods can cure cancer.
TRUTH: Most soft drinks contain a colouring agent that may promote cancer?
According to the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) of the World Health Organization (WHO), soft drinks contain a substance called 4-MI(4-methyl-imidazole) that is possibly carcinogenic. 4-MI is a by-product of the caramel IV dye that is present in soft drinks, especially colas.
MYTH: Can microwave oven exposure cause cancer?
The microwave oven releases non-ionising radiation, which can be carcinogenic to humans. However, the structure of microwave ovens is prepared so that the radiation does not escape into the external environment. For this reason it is very important to follow the instructions for use of the appliance and never use appliances that are internally rusty. Avoid closing the door of the microwave oven while it is still damp after use.
Always seek reliable sources of information and certified by inspection bodies to have access to correct guidance on cancer prevention and treatment.

The data from the research, carried out in partnership with the universities of Harvard (USA), Cambridge (England) and Queensland (Australia), result from crossing the number of occurrences of the two types of the disease with information from the latest National Health Survey, conducted by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) in 2013.
