Breastfeeding reduces breast cancer risk

Much is known about the importance of breastfeeding for babies, as in addition to helping to prevent various diseases, breastfeeding also protects the child against overweight and obesity from infancy to adulthood.

HOWEVER, BREASTFEEDING IS ALSO OF GREAT BENEFIT TO THE BREASTFEEDING MOTHER AS IT REDUCES THE RISK OF BREAST CANCER.

Studies have shown that the baby's sucking on the milk promotes a kind of exfoliation of the breast tissue, contributing to the elimination and renewal of damaged cells. Moreover, at the end of the lactation period several breast cells self-destruct, including some that could present lesions in the genetic material.

In addition, breastfeeding promotes a fall in the rates of certain hormones, which favour the development of breast cancer.

Therefore, do not stop breastfeeding. The longer you breastfeed, the greater the protection for both you and your baby.
