Friendly Americas and the Brazilian Navy

Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer among women in Brazil and worldwide, after non-melanoma skin cancer. According to INCA estimates, 73,920 new cases of the disease are expected each year by 2025 in Brazil. Through early diagnosis, we can increase cure rates to up to 98% by providing screenings to socially vulnerable women throughout Brazil. And thanks to the Brazilian Navy, the mammography machines donated by Américas Amigas are reaching even more women.
