São Paulo, October 2015 - Corinthians and Palmeiras, during the month of October, will forget their rivalries on the field in favor of a good cause: mammography exams. Annual mammograms enable the early detection of breast cancer and, when diagnosed at an early stage, the chances of cure are up to 95%. The project Marque Esse Gol arose from the initiative of the Meninas de Peito Group, Amigas Américas and Instituto SPX, which sought to raise awareness of the disease through football.
As part of the actions of Pink October, world month for fighting breast cancer, the two São Paulo clubs will receive a mobile mammography unit that will be installed inside the stadiums of their respective clubs with a medical team. The exams are free.
The first to receive the mobile unit will be Allianz Parque on 15 and 16 October. Women can do the exams from 9am to 7pm, with previous registration on the website www.marqueessegol.com.br or by email contato@marqueessegol.com.br and marqueessegol@gmail.com. From 26 to 31 October, the exams can be done at Arena Corinthians, in Itaquera. Registrations are already open and can be made at www.outubrorosasccp.com.br. If the number of interested players is higher than the attendance capacity, a draw will be held.
Many players and former players are already supporting the Marque Esse Gol project, among them, Léo Moura, Cafu, Willian, Zé Roberto, Cristaldo, Danilo and many others. Furthermore, until the end of the month, several actions and interventions in stadiums will be carried out involving players and patients undergoing breast cancer treatment.
The Marque Esse Gol project does not end in October. On the contrary, the month of the fight against breast cancer was only the launching period for the project, which intends to continue seeking support from clubs in other states, new ambassadors, fundraising, as well as gifts and items autographed by icons of Brazilian football.
