- The month of August marks a new trajectory of Amigas Americas, association founded in 2009 that fights for the reduction of breast cancer mortality, especially in Brazilian women of low income. Since the beginning of the month Americas Amigas has a new logo: the blue and green gave place to the colours pink and lilac. Moreover, the body of the butterfly now has the shape of a pink bow, which refers to the most traditional symbol of the fight against breast cancer.
"The butterfly is a symbol that accompanies Amigas since the beginning and represents the union of all and the desire to transform the current reality, in which the breast cancer mortality rate is still very high, to another in which women, because of early diagnosis, have a "Chance to Life," says Francisca de Paula Halley, president and one of the founders of Americas Amigas.
Besides logo change, all association's visual identity will be repositioned and applied in all brand contact points with its public.
Americas Amigas is a Civil Society Organization, nonprofit, founded in 2009, whose mission is to reduce mortality rates among Brazilians, especially among the low-income population, through early detection of the disease. For this, it donates mammography devices, trains and capacitates professionals in the mammography area, besides promoting awareness and information initiatives about breast cancer.
Throughout six years, Américas Amigas has already donated 23 mammography devices, 8 digitalized mammography systems and 1 stereotaxis table to public and philanthropic institutions in 11 Brazilian states. Thanks to the donated equipment, more than 400,000 mammograms have already been performed by the beneficiaries, including two Brazilian Navy ships that provide medical care to the riverside populations of AM and PA.
