from March 2 to 14, Américas Amigas, an entity that fights the mortality caused by breast cancer in Brazil, and Hospital de Câncer de Barretos will hold the seventh edition of the mammography improvement Course and the first edition of management Training in Breast Cancer prevention with emphasis on Quality. Offered to all institutions benefited by the Américas Amigas Mammography Donation Program, the course aims to provide professionals of the area, conditions to increase quality in breast cancer diagnosis and promote early detection of the disease. "The novelty in this edition is the offer of course for service managers of the partner units, which will receive training in management to improve patient care and service quality," says Francisca Harley president of Américas Amigas. The need to improve the quality of mammography exams was the main reason for the creation of the course. The project is the result of a partnership between Américas Amigas, Hospital de Câncer de Barretos, Instituto Avon, GE Healtcare and the renowned Dutch mammography screening training institute, National Expert and Training Centre for Breast Cancer (LRBC). The Mammography Improvement Course and the Management Training in Breast Cancer Prevention with Emphasis on Quality are approved by the Ministry of Education (MEC), and were developed by the Mammography Improvement Center. They offer two weeks of classes with a specialist physician, biologist and medical physicist, all trained by LRBC. About Amigas Américas - Amigas Américas Amigas is a non-profit civil entity, founded in 2009, whose mission is to combat breast cancer mortality in the country, through the donation of mammography devices and awareness programs, prevention, early detection and accurate diagnosis of the disease. The entity, which has already donated 23 mammography devices to various health institutions in the country, is qualified as a Civil Society Organization of Public Interest (Oscip) under Law No. 9.790 and has the Certificate of Entity Promoting Human Rights of the Secretariat of Justice of the State of São Paulo.
