The launch of the campaign took place on the morning of Tuesday (27), in the city of Potim.
The NGO Orientavida, responsible for developing the project throughout Brazil, makes an alert for the mobilization regarding breast cancer, promoting the realization of tests and monitoring the results of patients.
The event had the partnership of the Civil Society Organization of Public Interest (OSCIP), which arose in 2009 from the initiative of Barbara Sobel, wife of the then ambassador of the United States in Brazil, currently ambassador of the project. "One of the reasons that made me want to do this work was knowing that 42% of women who have breast cancer in Brazil die. In the United States it is 16%, here cancer is discovered very late", she says.
Pense Rosa alerts and mobilizes women regarding breast cancer prevention.
The organization donated more than 500 that were destined to the region of Potim, Guaratinguetá and Aparecida. According to Barbara, the choice of the cities came through personal contacts and the exams were destined to patients who had been waiting for the exam for a long time.
According to the organization, more than 440 thousand women have already been assisted in 12 Brazilian states. In all, 23 mammographs have been donated to the health sector.
Milene de Oliveira, 26, says she went to the event to learn more about the disease. "I'm a manicurist, I deal with many women every day, some are even afraid to do the exam. It's good to have information because I can pass it on to them, "he says.
About the event, the mayor of Potim reported: "I am very happy to know that we have here today the presence of several illustrious people, who left their tasks, the rush of everyday life to be thinking about life. Also present were Maristela Siqueira Macedo, Technical Director of the Regional Health Division of Drs XVII, in Taubaté, and Silvana Bauducco, representative of the brand Bauducco, sponsor of the campaign.
