Americas Amigas offers training for health professionals in Fortaleza and Manaus

Américas Amigas, which continues in the fight to reduce mortality from breast cancer, announces another initiative to stimulate early detection of the disease. The project provides for the holding of capacity-building, training and improvement courses for radiology and mammography technicians, radiologists and other related professionals, encompassing theoretical and practical classes at the Mammography Improvement Center at Barretos Cancer Hospital (HCB).

In all, 36 health professionals will be selected in Fortaleza and Manaus, who will undergo training at the HCB. With the courses, aimed at improving the quality of breast cancer screening and diagnosis exams, more than 700 thousand patients from the low-income population will benefit. Approved and certified by MEC, the courses have the support of Roche Brazil and are the result of partnerships between Américas Amigas, Barretos Cancer Hospital (HCB), the Association of Friends of Crio (ASSOCRIO) in Fortaleza and the Integration Center for Breast Friends (CIAM) in Manaus.
