Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer among women in Brazil and worldwide, after non-melanoma skin cancer. According to INCA estimates, 73,920 new cases of the disease are expected each year by 2025 in Brazil.

There are several types of cancer, some of which progress quickly and others more slowly. For this reason, treatment is decided on a case-by-case basis, according to the type of cancer and the stage of the disease.

It is the most common type of cancer among women in Brazil and worldwide, after non-melanoma skin cancer. According to INCA estimates, 73,920 new cases of the disease are expected per year by 2025 in Brazil.

Although it occurs much more frequently in women, breast cancer can also occur in men. According to INCA, based on data from the Unified Health System (SUS), 187 men lost their lives to the disease in 2015 alone.
